Learning spaces
Learning spaces at CJS and CSS are intended to provide an environment where students can ask questions, work with others, read, investigate and develop their ideas.
Outdoor environments give students space to move, play, explore and build relationships. They also provide opportunities for learning experiences that benefit from being outside the classroom.
Technology supports learning when it helps students research, create, communicate, practise skills and explore new ideas. Our digital learning approach is intended to complement strong teaching rather than replace it.

Creative activity gives learners another way to communicate ideas, develop confidence and appreciate the work of others. Spaces for art, music and performance can support individual creativity as well as collaborative projects.
Physical activity is part of a balanced school experience.
Sports and physical activities provide opportunities for students to develop coordination, resilience, teamwork and healthy habits. The facilities and activity programme can support both participation and friendly competition.

A supportive environment helps learners feel ready to participate, ask for help and make the most of school life.
Students learn best when they feel secure, respected and supported. The school environment should therefore combine care, wellbeing and clear safety practices with a strong sense of community.
